As I mentioned on the zoom call, since I was a teenager, I have done the Al Bundy football pose whenever I travel to a foreign country to a famous landmark. Below are pictures of me for roughly the last 20 years of doing the pose in such places as Tiananmen Square, Roman Coliseum, Bangkok Thailand, Pompeii, and many others. So far I’ve posted one, trying to figure out how to post more.

The Coliseum AND Bangkok? My old man scored four touchdowns in a single game at Polk High and the furthest he ever traveled was to the kitchen for another beer. You’re doing Al’s legacy more justice than Al ever did. Respect.

Thanks. I can’t remember the origins of why I do it, but it was probably sometime in college as I don’t see one before that. People would say in a group picture, make a “manly” pose, so the only thing to come to mind was the al Bundy pose. Then it just took on a life of its own and I starting doing it on every trip I took.

That’s awesome! The world needs more of this pose everywhere.

That’s cool. Were there people around who recognized the pose when you took the pictures?

Once in a while, somebody will think I am doing the Herman pose. Which I would correct them and say “no, the Al Bundy pose.” But most of the time, they have no clue.

Sorry, Heisman pose. Auto correct.
-

The Heisman pose? Please. Al’s hand down the pants is way more iconic. The Heisman says “I won something.” The Bundy pose says “I peaked in high school and I’m comfortable with it.” There’s levels to this.
