Now and Then

Married with Children trading cards on table

I’ve been a fan of MWC since the very first episode when it aired back in April of 1987. I was 12 years old when it premiered and 22 years old when the finale aired. I was the perfect age to grow up along side Bud, and it really impacted my life, sense of humor, and has stuck with me to this day.

The Bundy Club has really been an amazing community to be a part of and I thought it would be fun to show how long I’ve been a fan in actual real pictures. I was in 12th grade in the original picture, with my good friend Keith (who I am still friends with today). I took the new picture just today, at 51 years old, with the exact same air freshener. I know…not the most exciting product… but there wasn’t a lot of available merchandise in the market back then.

I think shows like MWC only come around once or twice a lifetime for people, and I’m excited to see what happens next.

Whoa Bundy!

    Thanks for sharing this
It’s not only the rare stuff that stayed with us or somehow found its way back into our lives — it’s also the feelings, memories, and humor we grew up with.
And honestly, I think everyone who grew up with this show shares a very special kind of humor
So thank you for sharing these pictures. I really love when people share a little bit of personal stuff here — it somehow makes this community feel closer .

Oh wow! Is that an actual Bundy air freshener? I hope it smells like Al’s socks???

The lack of merchandise opportunities back then resulted in “insta-buys” no matter what it was. But to be fair, I absolutely loved those air-fresheners!

You grew up alongside me and the best merch you could find was an air freshener. That about sums up the Bundy brand. But you held onto it for almost 40 years, so clearly something stuck. Probably the smell.
