Nostalgia

Not nostalgia for the jokes or the fashion, necessarily, but for the idea of television as a place where you could return every week to the same imperfect people. Nothing had to be resolved permanently. Nobody had to become a better version of themselves. By the end of the episode, the family would usually be back where it started, ready for the next small catastrophe.
